Arguing that she served 5 days cause she went in shortly before midnight on Sunday & left shortly after midnight Thursday - disgraceful. If I got 3 years could I go in on December 31st of 2007 and leave January 1st of 2009?)

There is a fundamental problem with our Justice system. If you're some rich guy, you can speed all you want, as you have no problem paying your tickets, but some guy who is poor faces a major hardship just paying one ticket for some unintentional driving mistake. If you're poor and you've committed a crime and some big time lawyer doesn't see any wonderful media spectacle to give his services for free, then you're going to be in bad shape. If you're rich and can afford the best lawyers, even if there is overwhelming evidence against you, they can often either find loopholes, technicalities or minor disputes with procedure to have your case thrown out, or at the least get your sentence reduced.

Justice is supposed to be blind, and though I know it would never happen, it would be nice to see an overhaul where everyone is truly held accountable for their crimes, and everyone gets equal treatment. Of course, you can read historical accounts and find this same sort of thing in Britain of the 1700s, Rome 2000 years ago, ancient China, etc. Wealth and power will usually trump right and wrong.

Now, when Travis becomes rich and powerful, we can count on him to send any one of us a high priced lawyer to get us out of trouble!

Oh, I'm only serious! Anyhoo, I guess I wouldn't have a problem with $$$ being used to its greatest advantage to fight a legal battle except its Daddy's money being used. If I were the parents here, I would be thinking "my daughter's a disgraceful whore" and wondering how to fix that, not just buy her way out of trouble again.
